One eye closed after treatment by vet

Hello

Our leopard gecko had a problem with his left eye. It looked as though he was squitning and he kept licking at it. We took him to the vet (luckily we have a vet specialising in exotics nearby) who said it looked like he had an abscess near his eye. He removed the abscess (small yellowish lump he showed us after removal) by making a small incision and then he also flushed the eye afterwards. The vet also gave us antibiotics to give him one drop a day for the next 2 weeks. His eye seemed better the next day and he had it fully open. However the next day it appeared more closed again and he is squinting still. Anyone experienced this and can offer any suggestiosn or advice? We called the vet and they said it might just be taking time to heal, but he went to the vet on Saturday morning and it;s now Wednesday and it;s almost fully closed again. We are trying to get another appointment but wondered if anyone had any advise in the meantime. His aim seems to be a bit off when eating, but he is managing to eat/poop as normal and is otherwise healthy. He is on kitchen towel.

If anyone is interested, the bill for the vet appointment was £42 (approx $63) - this was for the appointment and 2 weeks of antibiotics. Pretty reasonable we thought.

It could just be swelling from the incision. If you're giving him the antibiotics as prescribed, than I doubt it could be infected.

A picture might help.
