I have had ans maintained aquariums since I was 12 years old (actually since I was 5, but that doesnt count b/c I personally didnt take care of them).

I've kept just about everything except saltwater fish at some point.

I just ventured into the high tech planted aquarium side of the hobby 3 or 4 years ago. This tank here in these pictures, is the ACTUAL tank (not the same inhabitants) that I started with when I was 12! I have been wanting to upgrade to a 180 gallon ... I think Im LONG overdue!!! (but then I acquired this reptile addiction, and the tank has been on hold)

Eventually (when my kids are older, and I have more time) would like to have 3 huge tanks... a saltwater reef, Malawi African cichlids (again...I LOVE THEM!), a larger planted aquarium with South American Cichlids, tetras and shrimp.

WOW nice scape Tara............lots of TLC involved there,i know i suffer from MTS........(multiple tank syndrome)for those not up on the fishy stuff lol.............
marbles look good and love the rams...............
and sweet pics also ill be waiting for some close ups lol............i wanna see more lol

I dont actually have to Angels anymore, I wanted Amano and cherry shrimp, so I gave up the huge Angels back to the Aquarium Center where I go all the time, they were getting to big, and dwarfing the look of my tank anyway....maybe when I get my 180 gallon, I'll get some again I love angels! I'll try to get some close ups soon

the shrimp are neat i used too have some greens,i bred them for live feeders for the rest of the gang lol..............i too dream of a 180,i'm stuck with my 100g long six ft as my imaginary 180 lmao..........ill be looking forward too the pics

More fish lovers . I too suffer from MTS (As you can see in my signature). My biggest is a 75g, but when I have the room I would like one much bigger. No plants in it yet, but I want to get it nicely planted, with emphasis on synodontis catfish (right now I have in there giant danios, a pleco, and a senegal bichir). I'm thinking 3 or four different species (with synodontis nigriventris a must).
Your tank is spectacular! I could be missing this somewhere, but how big is it?

It's just a 55 gallon, they are one of the toughest tanks to landscape b/c they only have 12 inches in depth I really cant stand it, I need bigger!

Yea. When I was upgrading my turtle tank not too long ago I wanted a 55, but they are so thin it seemed pointless. I ended up with a 40 gallon breeder that was on sale for 40 bucks. I eyeballed both of them side by side and the bigger footprint makes up for the loss of some gallons.

I too dream of a huge tank, but not until I buy a house.

Thanks It's constantly changing, never looks the same one week to the next, sometimes it basically looks like Im starting all over again, trimming the plants back hard, etc. I really enjoy it though, it's my 4 foot piece of heaven
