only eating half mealies??

So in the past I have noticed that occasionally our geckos will leave half a mealie behind, but after coming home from a 3 day trip, I'm noticing half the bowl is filled with half bitten mealies. The worms were the end of the batch, do you think that they didn't like the taste of them?? I'm going to buy a new batch anyway, but any ideas?

Were they too big? Were they still alive before the gecko ate them?

Yes they were still alive and they eat this size of meal worms all the time. They ate the beggining of the batch just fine.

I would say they are eating each other! I have left 2 or 3 meal worms in a dish with wax worms and the mealies ate the waxies!

I know for a fact super worms will eat other worms

It sounds strange i know but i witnessed it.

I never seen a Leo only eat half of a worm!

I think I may have solved this mystery. After reading this website: http://www.sialis.org/raisingmealworms.htm (which I found from another post). I think what I was seeing was mealworm PUPA (the next life stage), which to the unexperienced eye (myself) appeared to be half eaten meal worms. Grosssss.
