My gecko doesn't eat in front of me anymore! I used to drop mealies or crickets in and he would chase and eat them right away( he stopped eating mealies so I switched to crickets as a staple). Then I went on a 3 day trip to Pennsylvania in June so my dad took care of him( he didn't want to touch the crickets so I bought tongs and he dropped some crickets in for my gecko). When I came back I had to drop the cricket in front of him or hold it in front of him with the tongs for him to eat( while he was in his hide). Now I have to leave the crickets in overnight so he can eat them at night while I'm asleep:zzz: and in the morning or when I check on him, there are a few crickets running around in his tank or standing still. I used to give him treats like a random waxworm or butterworm and he would eat them right away. Today I bought a silkworm and he licked it and walked away( not sure if it was because he doesn't like them because he has never had one). I'll try a waxworm or butterworm in a few days.
Can someone tell me how to get him to get him to eat in front of me???:main_huh::help:

I know that, I feed him after dinner.Maybe because it is summer he still thinks it is daytime. But sometimes I drop a waxworm in the daytime right after I buy it and he eats it.

My geckos Eat whenever I feed them almost instantly. Every now and then 1 will act a little weird and not eat while the others are all chowing down. I try not to get worried and just don't think anything of it. Next feeing I will check to see if that same gecko will eat. Almost everytime it will but sometimes it doesn't. 3rd feeding I will see if it eats. if it still doesnt eat with me watching ( because im not sure if it eats at all ) I will then take it out of the enclosure and put it in a temp tank I keep for this purpose or quarantine, and feed them there.

I wouldn't get too worried unless this situation stays the same for a while and you notice a weight loss it might be time for a vet visit.
