27 days ago my female leo laid her first two eggs for me. I am still anxiously awaiting their hatching in the incubator - shouldn't be too much longer. :) This time only one egg was laid but it was noticeably bigger than the first two. Is this unusual? Can there be twins in a single egg? Hey, it happens in chickens every now and then. Bob

Twins are pretty darn rare, but it happens once in a blue moon. I have had Leo's and Aft's lay one egg clutches. In fact I have an Aft that only lays 1 egg every time and still no twins.

So on other words....totally normal.

Its normal. I have a female who rarely lays 2 egg clutches. Nothing to bring worried about, and technically speaking a two egg clutch are twins, so clutchmates are actually twins. So with a one egg clutch there won't be twins unless two hatchlings pop out of one egg, which is very rare but not unheard of.

I'm having the same problem, my leo always lays 2 eggs. Her last drop was only 1.

Thanks guys. I was afraid that one egg might mean her nutritional needs weren't being met. She is a good eater and consumer of her vitamin powder. I'll be thrilled if even one out of the three eggs I have hatches. Bob
