Well I walked in to check on my gecko like I do about every 30 mins- 1 hour and saw that my female was getting very milky colored so I knew she was about to shed. I was excited because she was acting funny and Im hoping this was the issue. Well I came back around 30 mins later and realized there was a massive poo on the ground so I figured it was time to change the paper towels. I removed all of their hides and decorations and when I pop open the coconut hide I find her hiding there in mid shed, I freaked out because I didnt know if she would stop and if it was dangerous. SoI quickly changed the papertowels put her hides back in and now she trying to climb out of the opposite corner, she will go back and continue to shed right??

Also is there an easier wayh to change paper towels than taking everything including them out and changing it ??

Every time my gecko has shed I have seen her do it, and have helped with the tough parts. She'll be fine, you didn't traumatize her or anything. Although it's important to know that it's pretty stressful for them while they're trying to do that and even my very tame leo will bite me if she gets annoyed enough. But she should shed just fine.

I don't think so. I don't see how you could change paper towels without taking everything out...or without taking the paper towels out.

Alright thanks,I left the room for a little bit andshe went back to it, she ate most of it off, but she has a little bit on her forehead and left leg, I figure Ill give her ten more minutes to get it herself before I go in and help her out.

You could invent a gecko pooper-scooper like those for dogs. You'd make millions.

I dont know if that was sarcasm but they make them, but they're for sand.

And your cat looks just like a young version of mine

since geckos have a bathroom spot why not put extra layers there? then all you have to do is remove the soiled ones and replace the entire layer of towels for the cleaning?

I think both of mine have different bathroom spots one in the corner I could do that for but the female just went right in the middle of the cage.

I fold several layers toilet paper on the poop corners; I just need to change that when its used.

:D Mine goes in his dry hide every time on the dry paper towels. It's a litter box in a way.
