We have changed the cages for our Virginian Opossums. Here are the pictures of Patrick's move and a few more of O, as she has had a refurb.

We normally weigh both Patrick and O weekly, however, it is proving to be quite difficult at the moment. They will not sit still for long enough. We will be getting some better scales shortly and will be posting their new weights as soon as possible.

We will be taking them to the vets shortly, there is noting wrong with either of them but we want to ensure that all is fine before we plan the breeding. Hopefully it will be in January 2010.

Sorry for the long post.

Thank you for your time and interest in our babies.

Hi

Sorry it has taken so long to reply.

O and Patrick are kept in cages, although they both have free rain of our homes when we are in. They live seperately (about 35 miles away from each other). They both have superb temprements. We would never keep them in a cage 24/7.

We live in England but did do a lot of research into these beautiful animals before purchasing them. They have regular check ups at the vets and are good health. They have a varied diet, which seems to be doing them good. They eat only fresh fruit and vegetables (well we try to get the to eat veggies but they are a bit too spoilt to eat them now). Would be very interested in knowing any secrets you have for getting them to eat the veggies. Although they are both cared for in the same way they do have different eating habits, Patrick loves Strawberries and Granola Bars and O will not touch them. However, she loves Apples and Hobnobs which Patrick does not seem to happy with.

I totally understand that you have the best interests of these animals in mind. Thank you for your imput and we look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you for your time.
