orange under tail?

I've seen a few breeders who always photo the underside of the tail if there is orange or I guess "carrotting". I know a nice all around carrot is good, but what if the top of the tail has only limited orange, but the underside is almost solid? Does that count? Or do most carrot tails not have orange on the underside?

Marcia this is the best I could do with the little one. I hadn't even noticed the orange at all until the other day-seems every time he sheds it gets darker and more noticeable. I just didn't know how common this was. I've only seen a few pics from breeders but the tops of the tails had carotting as well. Does look like some spots trying to come in too.

The first Bell that hatched here...look like this, under the tail!
But over it´s not very much carrot, and I guess thats what counts.

Wow-you got the whole undertail. I wonder if it's a bell thing. Was there any tang/ct in your breeders do you recall? There is none in this group of bells. That's the only other bell I've seen that in-the others were aptor/raptors with all that orange tail infulence.

Many of the Red stripes we have have the orange[ colration on the sides and undersides but the top of the tail( in most cases) is white striped. I do have a few RSCT's though and it took alot of line breeding to get. SHTCT's have orange underneath to but its not a CT if any black breaks up the orange. I even have a few Albino with some carroting but not sure if i'd call it a CT or not. I will check other morphs to see what I find out. Deb
