Sorry if this doesn't belong here. I found this gecko in my porch last night..I think it's a house gecko, but I'm not sure. Oh, and I'm getting rid of the gravel today, I just haven't gotten around to taking that out.-

It has an orange-ish belly and female. Thanks!

Does anyone know the care of this species? I'm looking everywhere but I just can't seem to find it..?

Habits (from geckoweb site)
Like Mourning Geckos and Tree Geckos from Hawaii, this species is parthenogenic. The all-female population lays pairs of fertile eggs without fertilization by males. Hatchlings resemble adults, and are less than 2 in. (5 cm) TL. Like other house geckos, Indo-Pacific Geckos are nocturnal climbers that feed on insects. They can be found by day in the leaf axils of palms, under loose tree bark and in crevices of houses and other buildings.

Personally I would place it back outside. It most likely is carrying parasites or worms which can be passed onto your leo's. Most wild caught (WC) animals die in captivity due to stress. The stress lowers their immune system and makes them susceptible to the parasites/worms. Stress can also cause them not to eat all together, thus causing the gecko to starve to death.

Thanks Stitch, I was thinking of seeing what happened for a few days, and if she wouldn't eat, then let her back out into the wild. I keep her cage outside, where I caught her, and I wash my hands before touching my other geckos.

I live in Florida. You should see her at night, her colors are much brighter, and I think, like anoles, she was stressed out in that picture. I wonder, since the females fertilize their own eggs, if there are ever infertile ones? It's hard to catch these little buggers, they're very fast. I was lucky enough for her to have ran in my mum's shoe lol.

I always wondered where on Earth you were from too hahahaha ;)

We have a bunch of lizards that can be seen during the summer months in Arizona, they crawl all over the walls on the outside of houses (at least, I have always seen quite a few crawling around at my fiance's parents' house)
