Other garter keepers?

So my mom, who is dead set against all snakes (and even similar non snakes, like glass lizards and caecillians), has finally decided that there is one snake that she will let me keep. A garter. Maybe because of all the ones I catch and release in the yard, she has gotten used to them.

Anywho, I was wondering who else on here had garters? I'm looking to get maybe a true blue or red sided (they're cool looking, and in my price range), but I wanted to see what everyone else was keeping first. Plus, I don't even have a tank yet, so it will whet my appetite till I can get one of my own.

Yeah I have kept a red sided who was a little meanie!
Their great though!
Super easy to care for.

I have a little wild caught wandering garter. I think they are very interesting snakes.
