Why would you want to take your gecko out for a power walk? It obviously stressed him out so much he wanted to teach you a lesson not to do it agian, LOL!

I've never had a leopard gecko bite me. I have had one of my large male african fats think that my finger was a cricket. It really surprised me how easily they can draw blood. I guess we have to keep in mind that they are capable of inflicting injury.

many know of my interaction with the mouth of a leo and my finger.. I have a nice scar to always remember the love we shared..

I agree with Marcia I wouldn't have taken him on an extended walk.. If I want to interact with one I generally keep him/her on my shoulder while i feed the rest of the gang or watch tv for an hour at most..

well this walk was only 15 minutes and mine has been out alot longer than that before. i think the reason he was biting is because he needed me to put him down for him to poop but i couldnt cause i wasnt right at his cage.

The geckos will poop as a defensive mechanism. Just ask my gecko P.S. ! He must have been seriously freaking out. I HIGHLY doubt it was because he wanted to get down to poop. They don't care if they crap on your shoulder. He may have seen a bird (aka: predator) and when you wouldn't let him hide, he had to do what was needed to get away. Leave your gecko at home next time.

Man after reading all this you guys make me scared of my geckos. I have only been bit by one of my babies and it was more of a put me back then anything it didn't even hurt. I have NEVER been bitten by one of my adults. Heck I don't even think I have seen any of the ones I have bite. Well I have but not ME!

I bought a 90 gram Male Blazzing Blizzard at a show earlier this year in March, when i took him out he bit my finger so hard for about 15 seconds and that dark red blood started running down my finger, not that surface blood. The blood that u see in horror movies. he was a big gecko. Imagine getting bite By a Super Giant at 156 grams like that Famous (moose), sounds like an adrenaline rush rite. LOL

The only gecko I have that is aggressive is my 90g Male Tang Albino. Everytime I put my hand in his cage to feed, water or clean, he walks right out of his hide and goes right for me. I used to think he was just hungry until he lunged at me. I haven't been bitten yet but I'm scared to hold him. Funny thing because he is one of my favorites.

Well, I haven't really been bitten hard by my geckos (touch wood). There was one time Marly (a big male over 100g) got hold of my hand for more than 5 minutes, no kidding, because he had mistaken my hand as a female... His "bite" was so gentle that he only left several teeth marks (like dots) on my hand and not much blood at all (just a few bead-size drops)...lol.
