His name is Odin, we got him Friday evening. Previous owner told me he was 5 months old, eats meal worms and not much else.

I know he is kinda skinny right now. I don't have any idea how well he was treated or feed so I'm just feeding him real well for a few weeks and then going to cut him back to 8-10 meal worms every other day. Is that enough or should i do it every day? Right now he eats everything I put in the tank with him.

Our youngest son really likes him just hopes he slows down a little so he could hold him more. My wife didn't like him at first but after a few days of watching him climb around his tank she has grown to like him. He is very interested in what we are doing out side his tank. We keep him in the living room right now and every night at 7:30-8;00 he comes out and starts to climb over his hides.

While I have this posted I have a tail question.
The previous owner told me he had lost his tail about 2 months ago. The tip was very pink but after a few days that changed over to a yellow/peach color. I don't know if that was because he is eating like a mad man, was stressed over moving or just normal for tail growth. I'm not sure but I think it has grown in the last 3 days.

Very beautiful gecko! Yes, he seems to have a regenerated tail, but it suits him well :) Do not cut back on the feeding though, especially now that he is growing and has lost his tail. The geckos energydeposits lie in their tails, so he will need some extra care with the food. Let him eat all he wants each feeding (everyday) and he will be fine. I usually feed my juvenile geckos for about 10-15 minutes per day and let them eat all they want. Odin will let you know when he is full and how many mealworms he wants, so let him guide you instead of putting up a feeding schedule :) Do you use a multivitamin to dust his food with? Btw, have you tried feeding Odin crickets - my geckos think they are delicious ;)

As Odin is new to his home, you should let him be for a couple of weeks before you handle him. Otherwise, he will get very stressed and have a hard time getting comfortable in his new home! But dont worry, it is only natural for young geckos to be skittish. He will calm down as he grows older and bigger! For now, ask your son to just lay his hand in the terrarium and put some mealworms on it for Odin to eat. Do not lift him out of the terrarium or grab him. Eventually, he will come to your son´s hand on his own and climb it :) But for now, try to handle him as little as possible.

I had the same issue with my husband - he was totally against getting a gecko at first! But then, after a few days he became fascinated with our little gecko. Now he sits by the tank and talks to it, even lets it climb on him for a while :)

Odin is very cute and has lovely color! Congrats to him - he is one lovely looking gecko :)

Thanks for the info.

I have given him a few crickets and I started a cricket keeper over the weekend so with some luck in a few weeks I will have a lot of crickets to give him.

In the pic he looks a little brighter then in person. I was told he is a Murphy Patternless but I don't know enough yet to be sure. He is very cool to watch walk around the tank, last night I saw him walking around and I though "It must be 7:30 time for the kids to get ready for bed" lol

Yeah, they are so cool to watch! My younger geckos usually sleep until 8-9, whereas my adult get up around 5-6. They can be so funny at times, and adorable too :) The day I got my first gecko, was the start of something amazing and I just love my geckos so much! Could you post more pics of your little guy when he roams around his tank?

He looks so much better already :D It looks like he is in a good, caring home! Why cut back on his food? I mean, he looks so much healthier but he will need as much energy as he can to fill out that tail of his:)

Thanks everyone I am really glad we got him.

On the food I was thinking of cutting back to every other day. He is eating 12-17 meal worms a night right now. But if that isn't a problem I'm not set on it or anything. I'm just as happy to feed him every night just don't want him to get fat and lazy.

We are ordering Dubia this week so I will switch him over within the next month or so.
