Hey everybody I'm new to the forums but thought i would share our story of how we came to purchase our gecko. Which is currently un named until we figure out if its a boy or a girl. I'm pretty sure its a girl. Anyways my gecko was bought for me as a Fathers day present, prior to purchasing him I did a lot of research on geckos and when i seen her I thought she was so unique compared to the other geckos she was housed with. I really wanted to take her home that day but could not because of my work, So I told my wife how much I wanted so she and our kids drove 1 and a half hours to get her and surprised me when i got home. It was a really great fathers day to say the least. But anyways here are some pictures of her. Also she was purchased at a large chain pet store and upon bringing her home noticed she was missing a lot of toes. If anybody could tell me im curious if they were bit off by other geckos or from poor shedding. Also the first 2 photos are when we just got her home and the last 3 were current ones i just took. Let me know what you guys think

She does look very pretty and healthy.

In the first 2 photos it looks like she had shed on her toes, that would be my guess as to what happened to the missing toes. If you keep a moist hide that will decrease the risk of it happening again, but I also check mine every time I pick them up for skin that is stuck on their toes.

Yea shes got a moist hide on the hot side of the tank and 2 cold hides, she's shed twice since we had her but her toes look way better now. We were surprised when we seen her eating her shed lol. Thx for the response also.

Most do eat the shed but I have seen a few that don't. I remember the first time I was one shed he had him for 2 or 3 days and it scared the crap out of me. At the time I didn't know what was going on I knew they would shed but never pictured it like that. Enjoy your father day gift those do make for some really nice ones.
