Our Two Big Pups

Well we started out with one pup that we adopted through the local Dog Warden in June of 06 and she's a handful enough LOL. Then about a month back during a horrendous cold snap here in Toledo, Ohio, this big pup followed me home from the area of my son's school. Considering the horrible cold and that fact that the poor thing was stopping to lick at the snow, he was just so obviously in need of a home and...well I'm a softie okay! lol

Gunnar, on the left is the female pup, she's about 10 months old and supposedly a boxer/lab cross. Tank, on the right is the male pup, he's probably only about 6 to 8 months old and likely some sort of pit/lab/shepherd cross.....

Gunnar's got the typical very high energy of the boxer breed so Tank's a true gift to her as well. He'll happily play chase and wrestle endlessly with her though he's very nice about falling over so she "wins" lol

Who would have thought I'd end up with two half-grown dogs! :D

Thanks for the nice comments everyone. We're working with Tank as his temperment with the family is fantastic but he's very leery of strangers and very protective of me in particular. I expect that comes from his pit genetics and though I must say I feel very safe out walking in the city streets or home when hubby's not here, we do need to socialize Tank more so he understands not everyone is out to "get" his mommy!

Silly thing though for such a big pup and one with a strong protective temperment, he whines like a newborn pup if he can't get to me (his "momma"). Bit embarrassing really, the big sucky boy LOL.
