Do not take it rude but i do not like when people use the therm "play", they're animals and not "toys"... now all depend what you mean by taking outdoor, personally i never take any of my animals out of my appartment since it's somehow a lot of risk for my collection and that i should put any that goes out in quarantine for months after it...Now if you talk about "a pet" animal, it would not be a big deal to let him hang out a bit outside if the temperature are fitting in the average gecko acceptance, i would avoid windy times also, obvioulsy i'll not say avoid to make it in contact with dogs, cats etc...and to end, not to keep the animal too long outside (10-15 mins manipulation average time is what i would consider acceptable for not bring the stress to a too high level), but they're in all case better in their own territory with their freedom to hide when they want rather than outside.

Im sorry about the word play, I know they certainly wont fetch a ball like a dog! Im not offended. By play I meant explore abit and get alittle fresh air.

The grounds of my apartment building are never sprayed and I take my mantids out for fresh air and exploration. I even leave them out on my plants for hours at a time so they can enjoy some wild hunting. I would Never ever do that with my geckos, ever.

I like sitting outside and my gecko could go with me. Thats all. And I know to stay away from trees! I dont know if these leos could climb and I will not try to find out!

No i believe that would stress your gecko more than it would show him or her a fun time. Plus you may get mites or ticks on them, nevertheless chemicals from people fertilizing the grass. I would just keep them inside safe and happy.

I can't because I keep mainly albinos and they just don't tolerate the light. But I bring my chameleons outside as often as possible, as with any other diurnal reptile I may have - natural sunshine is the single best thing you could give them. I'll even put them outside if we're having a warm Florida shower, they seem to enjoy that as well.
