Over a month between clutches?

I purchased a possibly gravid Bell female (first year breeder) back in June. She arrived shedding tons of visible pinworms, so I took her to the vet for a fecal and treatment. Despite my vet saying she was likely gravid but nowhere near laying, she dropped two dud eggs 5 days later (June 9). I assumed it was due to the dewormer meds or just plain stress of shipment + immediate vet visit and figured since they were both duds I would have to wait until next year for babies.

Anyway, it's now nearly a month later, and while she's a little chubby around the middle (making it hard to see if she's got eggs in there or just fat pockets) I noticed this morning she has a super-bright ovulation dot. Is it possible that she'll produce another clutch this long after the first? I'd be thrilled to have some babies out of her this year, but don't want to get my hopes up. What do you think? Possible, or just wishful thinking?

To answer my own question, she's digging around to lay a pair of eggs (what I thought was just pink fat bodies in her chubby belly) as I type. I'm pretty sure what I saw and originally posted on was an ovulation dot, though, so maybe she's going to lay another clutch after this one, too. I guess I'll have to wait and see.

Well, she dropped two eggs late this morning. One's all squishy & water balloon feeling, but the other is nice and firm. I have high hopes. :D

Can a female really retain sperm and produce fertile clutches/healthy babies after a full year?
