Greetings!

I was able to find some nice rocks which I would like to add to my tererrium; however, I want to paint them a nice neutral color.

Are there any Do's and Don'ts with paint? IE: Type of paint to use?

I use acrylic paint (with mod podge as a sealant) for my fake rocks/walls, but I'm not sure about regular rocks. I'm think it depends on what kind of rocks you have (porous vs smooth). You might want to check with your local craft or home improvement store, but I would definitely finish them with several coats of non-toxic sealant.

any rocks you get you should wash in a diluted bleach solution, or a vinager solution, and definitly bake them in the oven at 350 for around 1 hour.
you wouldnt want to just paint acrylic and put it in the tank because acrylics tend to peal off easily when on smoother surfaces, and through normal wear. always seal any project with a nontoxic sealent.
