Painting a hide with acrylic paint?

I wanted to make Teak a new moist hide and was wondering if I used tupperware and painted it with acrylic paint to make it dark, would that be ok and safe? Obviously I would let it sit for a few days but I wasn't sure if it was ok to use. I was planning on painting it brown and added some moss and fake leaves to blend it in. Thanks in advance

Yes, but make sure it's non-toxic though. And yes, make sure it air drys for a few days.
