Panacur Dosage (Helpeh ASAP)

Before I present my problem, let me show you the problems leading up to my mondo-problem.

I got a gecko from Petsmart. He doesn't eat. My parents refuse to take him to the vet, I thought they would when I bought it, and I also thought I would have a job, but they unexpectedly stopped applications for some reason. After a long time without eating I made the slurry via RR (Thank you Marci). This is the only thing he will eat. He is no longer rapidly losing weight, but he isn't gaining either. I bought panacur and was had dosage ready, but I somehow got a extra strong panacur. 22.2% fenbenzadole strong. I have tried RR, Dr. Gecko, Google, this, that, those, them, to gain all the information I can. Now the dosages are off because of the (apperently) super strong panacur (For dogs). I need help desperately, I realise I messed up and regret it, but what happened happened and I need to fix it. I need to know the dosage for a 4 gram gecko with 22.2% panacur. I have mixed a one gram package of panacur with 15 ML of water and have it in a container.

Also, in the last two days my geckos eye has been just shut. There is no visible stuck shed, nothing holding it back. I tried using a warm Q-Tip to open it up but had no luck.

Here goes more descriptions of my gecko Reno. He is 4 grams underweight, the back of his tail is shriveled, he falls alseep while eating from the eyedropper, is not alert at all. It is looking really bad. Here is a picture before and after:

Temps are 90-91, cold side is around 10 degrees lower. He has a water dish, calcium dish, food dish, and a humid hide on the warm side.

Perhaps you should take a fecal to a veterinarian to diagnose the possibility of parasites? Panacur is only effective on certain types of worms.

BTW, the dose for Panacur is 25-50mg per kg of body weight, administered weekly until fecal test come out clean.

I would, I would. The lowest price near me is $71 because they need to send it off to a lab or some crock of crap. My head almost exploded when I heard the price, so I'm stuck trying this. I was under the impression fecals were only 20ish at the time!

I saw 25-50 mg/kg but my dilema is 25-50 mg/kg ?=? ml(cc)/gram. Or am I even doing this right? Ugh. I fail math for a reason :main_thumbsup:

This is why I always say that Pet Stores often have the most expensive geckos you can find.

25 mg/kg = .025 mg/gram because there's 1000 grams in a kilogram.

But like Marcia said, Panacur only works on certain parasites.

Yeah, but I noticed it is realitively safe and treats a pretty wide variety. I really hope it works.

Indeed, pet stores DO have the most expensive pets
