Anyone have experience with these guys? I picked one up today for half price, and I have the essentials already set up for him, I just want to hear some "testimonies" if you will. Also, what you kept them on. I've heard mixed reviews for sand and eco-earth as well as paper towel, what's been your experience? Thanks!

We talked with several breeders & they each recommended something different; but none had any bad personal experience with the substrates they didn't recommend. It's almost like a wildfire, don't use this...but have nothing to really back-up why not other than heresay.

We resorted to doing a 50/50 split; with the back half sand & the front half eco-earth. We have the UTH running front to back on the right side so they have a warm & cool section on each substrate. I've watched my trio hunt on this set-up for over a month & none of them have had any issues on either side while hunting. They do prefer sleeping on the warm eco-earth side burried under a rock or leaf litter. Oh, they like pooping in the back left corner (cool sand side).

I've enjoyed my trio so much, I plan to get more this spring.

I keep and breed these guys and I also use a 50/50 mix of sand and coco fiber. They are very active geckos, as I've seen mine climbing, burrowing, and just watching while I do work in the reptile room. But for the babies I put them on paper towels usually until I can feed them by hand so they don't get impacted or anything like that. But congrats on the new addition I'm sure you'll be pleased!
