Pastels are yellow in color while normals are brown. Some pastels can be darker as they tend to "brown out" as they age and can look normalish, but you can always tell if it's a pastel by the lighter head .
Pastels while young will be yellow in color with lots of side blushing and faded head. Also look for their signature green eyes. As they get older some brown out being harder to detect as pastel to the untrained eye.
