I have seen a few of these being offered. My question would be that is this just a line bred trait or does it carry the patterenless gene as well?

Thanks,

Ryan

I actually am having a patternless stripe (among others) shipped here this coming tuesday. The term "patternless" just refers to a striped gecko with reduced spotting... basically the non-albino form of an APTOR (so I am told). So, to answer your question, no, the patternless stripe does not have actual patternless genes; like murphey patternless etc. I guess it is a possibility that there could be a pattenless stripe that is het. murphey patternless...

Patternless stripes are not Murphy Patternless nor do they have any Murphy Patternless in them. The name comes from the body being mostly patternless and a striped tail. There has been some great confusion on this due to the name. They are believed to be the non-albino form of an A.p.t.or. Mine all carry the albino and non albino eclipse gene.

Some here think the patternless stripe is a combination of stripe and reverse stripe and the nonalbino version of Aptor or with Eclipse Raptor :)

Yes Patternless Stripe refers to the lack of pattern, and is definitely the same thing you see on an Aptor.

We made some of the very first "Patternless Stripes" by breeding a Red Stripe to a Reverse Stripe Albino. The babies that looked most like Aptors were then bred to eachother, to Raptors, Aptors, and hets. They proved out to be the same trait, and "Raptor/Eclipse" can be produced without any actual "Raptor" genes. The same results were found in Alberto`s project(which we both did around the same time), and also by Kelli, using some of the PRS, which were produced here.

Patternless Stripes and "Aptors" are all basically co-recessive "het for Eclipse", and carry the genes for all patterns.
