Last summer I was on a fishing trip in Pennsylvania. I saw a few toads, some red spotted newts (EVERYWHERE), a Northern slimy salamander, along with some mammals (porkupine (sp?), momma bear with three cubs (yikes!) and a few deer. It was super fun, but unfortunatly none of the animal pictures turned out. I did get a few cool ones of the little tributary we were camping along, and a few pics of my "minnow" brook trout catches. Here they are:

Gecko dude, think those are newt eggs.
Jake, the pics that did come out, came out awesome. I had the same thing happen to me one year when I spent a summer in Talkeetna Alaska camping on the river fishing for salmon. I was young and dumb and spent alot of time following the younger grizzly bears around getting as close as like 10 feet to them taking pics. And when I got him none of the film I had developed back hom came out. Not sure if it was the xray machines or just a big batch of bad film.

Thats a cute little brookie you caught. lol

yea, the jell like substance is the casing of new eggs. It acts as a protective barrier, and I belive I heard that it in a way magnifies the sunlight and provides a bit of warmth (not sure on that). Sorry to hear that your photos didnt turn out. Thanks everyone!

Pepper, I would stay right where you are. lol
After my summer up there in Alaska I tried everywhere I could to try and find some kind of fish in my area that had the fight of a salmon. Only thing that came close was the ugly Carp.
Nothing like a big King on a Fly rod to get the blood pumping.
