perlite-humid hide substrate

I know that people use vermiculite as a humid hide substrate but i have never herd of anyone useing perlite. Is ther a reason for this?

Perlite and Vermiculite are used for egg laying boxes. Sure, you could use them for humid hides, but there is cheaper stuff out there.

Perlite, if you feel it is a little sharpish on some edges, it is volcanic glass.

Coco fiber is a great choice for the humid hide.
