can i mix perlite and vermiculite?

with my limited knowledge, I would say yes. A lot of my research has led to both being good incubation mediums. I can't see mixing them having any adverse effects other than maybe more difficulty getting the right water ratios.

With vermiculite AND perlite, the correct water to substrate ratio is 0.8 parts water : 1.0 part substrate by weight. That ratio applies to both vermiculite and perlite.

Actually this is how I incubate. I mix a perlite and vermiculite into even amounts.
