Perlite

Has anyone used both perlite and vermiculite? I ran out of vermiculite and my order won't be in til the end of the week, anyway I went and got some perlite real quick and followed Albey's method. It seems to me like the perlite is way to dry. Is that how it supposed to feel? Never mind the fact that it feels like rocks. I guess I'm just asking are my eggs going to make it?

If you trust Albeys method, they will be fine. I know it seems dry but that is the way it is supposed to be.

I've learned the dry side is better. You would be surprised how many full term dead eggs I have had this season because my medium was too moist....

Does perlite ever feel moist? The vermiculite is soft so it seems to soak up the water I don't know where the water goes in the perlite. It doesn't feel like it absorbed any of it.
