My male BB is such a scaredy cat and is really mean at the same time but when he does come out and looks at you in certain ways its so funny. Then my little female BB, She is so cool, at night when im watching tv in my room (where the cage is) there is a little window 2 in. off the ground and she reaches her head up and i can see her little head poking up.
What do your geckos do?

Jackie recognizes my voice and looks up to find me when I come in to feed him. He will climb up on my arm by himself...so will Tiki. Tiki is my little cage cleaner helper. When I wipe down the tiles she is right in the middle of everything helping! Angel is very shy, but when I was wiping her tiles she watched me from her rock hide. She also loves being sweet talked to...if she could purr I would swear that is exactly what she is doing when I tell her how beautiful she is! I LOVE my geckos! And they do have awesome personalities!

I have my geckos in open top glass tanks, whenever I walk into their room at night, most of them will come out and start climbing glass or up their wood to a high point, so they could get to my hand. I think I'm very fortunate, because most of my geckos LOVE being held; I know most people will think they are just looking for food or the warmth from my hand, but I'm pretty sure they are not. I think they're just well adapted to human interations, as I spend a lot of time with them every night.

Everyone one of them have different personality too. For example, Marly is "outside" 90% of time. Gel lives next door to him, whenever I pick up Marly, Gel will come out from where ever he is, and start climbing glass untill I put back Marly and pick him up and give him a kiss. Then he is satisfied, and will go back to his hide or wood. Its becoming like routine, lol.

Mine will look at me and that means she wants to come out for a bit. When shes out she looks at me and looks around. When she hears a noise she looks off in that direction, anytime the dog walks in the room she always has her attention on her. I dont know if its her collar or if she can smell the dog or she sees her as a predator or what, but my gecko is always watching her.

Khayman and Akasha are 2 of my rescues and they seem to crave human attention. They hear you come in the room day or night and they are out hoping around the front of the tanks like look at me. Pandora, Gabrielle, ellenore and Mack like to play hard to get. They act like they don't want to come out but then you have a devil of a time getting them to go back in. My 2 BB are both real shy. They sneak out and when they see you they both scurry back into wherever they came from. Maharrett loves to get out of her tank but then she prefers to wonder off and do her own thing. Riddik is our devil, he tries to show us he is boss. He likes to nip you, thank goodness he doesn't have huge teeth, lol. Mael, Eben,Santino, Louis and Leo are typical males. They can take attention or leave it. they seem to like eating and sleeping better then anything else. geckos are great. they really do have different little personalities and habits.

Most of my geckos are always very curious whenever I open their tubs. I have a few that bolt into their hides though.

Every one of my geckos has a different personality. I have a few that ignore me, and would rather not be picked up. Most are curious, and don't mind being handled. But I do have several that come out whenever I come in the room, and scratch the walls until I pick them up. All of them climb up onto my shoulder when I am cleaning their enclosures.

Definitely they are all different. I find the ones that are produced from a lot of inbreeding to get their traits are the grumpiest! You really don't know they are going to react to you until they have had a chance to settle in and get used to you, just like a cat or a dog. If you expect them to be like a cat or a dog in temperament you are going to be disappointed. If you respect them for the cool gecko beings they are everyone will be fine. :)

Every leopard gecko is differant. I have some that come up to me when I go near their tank that want to be held, some will stay in the humid hide untill I pick it up and then climd up my arm , some climd all over the place and some that will hiss 1 or 2 times then let me pick them up. Some will even come out of hiding while I am watching tv and watch tv or watch my wife and I.

On one occasion I had a couple of young girls come visit me and have a look at my breeder leo set-ups where I have about 120 breeders. She looked at them closely and said "I don't see how can you tell them apart!" I could hardly stop laughing! :main_laugh:
