I think it would be okay, we used Pedigree dog food in our slurry since we couldn't get Hill's from the vet at the time. We just checked to make sure there weren't any weird ingredients.
I think it will be fine. The recipe says Hill's a/d, it's an antioxidant formula for dogs and/or cats, you should be alright with what you've got though. You could ask Marcia, she would know.
The hills a/d is usually only available from the vet and each time that I made slurry I had to ask the people behind the desk at the vet for it because they didnt have it out with the other dog food that you can pick up at the vet. It is for cats or dogs.
The Hill's A/D formula is a very high calorie, high nutrition, pasteurized, meat-based food designed for animals that are anorexic or have been 'off food' for awhile. Since I have only used this food and nothing else in my slurry, I cannot endorse the use of any substitutes for my slurry recipe. This doesn't mean there aren't any substitutes... it means I have no experience with anything other than Hill's A/D.
