Pet For Grandma

Alright, so my grandma LOVES animals. Her entire apartment is covered in stuffed animals, she has SO many animal books, and always wanted a pet. Unfortunately, her apartment strictly forbids any animals. Her last living friend is in the hospital now and she most likely isn't going to make it, so I want to get her some kind of pet. Anything that makes any noise is a definite no. I also do not wanna get her anything that requires a lot of work or cleaning, such as an aquarium. I was thinking about getting her a betta fish, but I would like to do a little more than that. Does anyone have any suggestions for me??

I was going to say Beta fish as well, they are pretty easy to care for I think.

Well, I'm thinking of some pets that wouldn't give any problems but I'm not all that sure that your grandma would like them!

Snakes for example, don't give too many problems. You only have to feed them and remove the feces once a week. Leopard geckos are also a good option (get your grandma into geckos, lol!) but they require daily feeding and cleaning. They take more work than fish, but they are also more rewarding because you can interact with them. Also they don't smell (if cleaned properly), don't make noise, don't require too much room... They are good pets for a apartment.

Invertebrates such as tarantulas are also a good option but they are not as rewarding as reptiles I think. They are more like fish, don't have too much personality. Why is it that I cannot think of any socially accepted pet for your grandma?

Haha... well snakes and tarantulas are a very strict no with her. That would literally kill her. Even a gecko would be too difficult because she does not drive, so food would be hard for her to get. She is in her mid 80s, so I think I am going to have to stick to fish or its going to be too difficult for her. She would love a bird and I hate that she can't have one. My cockatiel loves her and she seems so happy when he sits on her shoulder and sings to her. Oh well... unless someone has another idea, Beta fish it is...
