Petshop advice

In the UK the petshops give out some awful advice to people regarding reptiles. The reptiles also in these petshops tend to be not cared for correctly often very skinny and housed with other species they shouldnt be. We rehomed a leo yesterday from a lady who no longer wanted him so she gave him away free to a good home and he is a very healthy weight at 86grams so you can tell she cared about him alot. However he was kept on calcisand since he was a baby, with given no claci dish. His food was never dusted with calcuim or vitamins or gutloaded. He was on a heatmat which had no stat in this case maybe the deep layer off sand was a good thing. And he went 18 months without a moist hide I dont think any of this was the ladys fault as she cleary loved him but more than likely another stupid pet shop giving out the wrong advice it does make me very mad!!!

in deed it does i only have 2 pet shops where i live that sell reptiles the first one is a reptile only shop and there animals are in good condition but they do not tell the new owner they need such and such i think its up to the owner to attually look it up

the other pet shop sells everything and everything it sells is of poor health..
last time i went in was to look what kind of morphs they had and the tank the leos was in had not been cleaned in so long a mealworm pupa was turning into a beetle

I read a care guide on Cresteds at a pet store and it said you could house a trio in a 20 tall. I think this is wwayy too small!!!
