Okay, I know that sounds crazy. But it happened! I had some phoenix worms that I had been feeding and not keeping in the fridge to fatten them up, and one started to pupate. So I looked it up and it said they turn into little flies. So this morning, it hatched, into a beetle! Am I crazy or???

They definitely become flies, but maybe its wings are deformed or not pumped up yet? You can probably try to feed it off, although leopard geckos aren't supposed to be really into flies. If you have a more arboreal lizard, it might be met with more enthusiasm.

Well I wasn't concerned with what I was going to do with it or who to feed to it, more of why it happened I guess/if it happened to anyone else. But no, its definitely a little brown beetle. It actually looks like a mealworm beetle. Its just so odd! Maybe its a new morph worm/beetle thing
