I went to a store today and saw this girl. She was very emaciated and just not looking very good overall. I felt really bad for it :/

On the drive home, the container she was in had a moist paper-towel inside... and she spent the whole ride home licking it for moisture.

When we got home, she literally ate 7 large mealworms off my fingers. She was either very tame or very hungry. Hopefully I can nurse her back to health.

I was told she is a Sunglow Enigma. Here's some pics.

So sad to hear about her past, but glad you found her, she is lovely. Keep us updated!

I'm sure her life is going to be a lot better now, she will be amazing looking once she fattens up a bit.

Oh My, I thought my little girl was skinny when I got her, but nothing like this. Take good care of her as I am sure you will.

Thx guys for the support. I'll be sure to post how she does in the future :)

fuzzylogix, how do you know she was not kept in the right temperature? Sorry, pretty new at this :)

sometimes when leos are kept too cool, they can turn dark or get dark spots. but this girl probably needs a full vet checkup to be honest. fecals definitely need to be done.

Poor baby! She's probably dehydrated too, but at least she hasn't lost any toes with bad sheds. A warm shallow bath daily for a week or so should bring her fluid level back to normal. She should be tested for parasites, it's a common problem with skinny leos. Also quarantined for at least a couple months in her condition.

She sure is a perty girl!! Good luck with her :)

Aw good for you 2. Also to add to the advice you've already been given, please do some reading on re-feeding syndrom. It's a commonly overlooked issue with rehabbing a lot of different species that become emaciated. If you go back thru my thread posts you'll find several references to it or you can use the search bar. Take your sweet time putting weight on her. Make sure you have a good suppliment program going with either (imo) repashy calcium plus icb or the T-Rex version leopard gecko dust. What do you think Laney? still every other feeding for a leo in her condition? Good luck, keep us posted :)

Thanks everyone again for the tips. I'll do my best. She's resting now. I gave her a warm bath as suggested, and I'm just letting her be. I'll keep everyone posted with more pics as the weeks go by :)

Definatley enigma, good looking gecko! Be careful not to feed to much at one time, the gecko is clearly "fragile' right now, good luck!

This is a shot after her warm bath :D
I do have a question about the rainbow colors on her stomach area on the pic. I've never seen this before, but I wanted to know if this is a sign of something I should be worried about?

Thanks.

I think you will see it change over the next few days as her food passes thru her system. Their skin is very translucent and often their guts look strange and alarming to us. As se regains her health, a lot will change in her colorations :) She's a beauty :)
