that is one of the most orange babies i have ever seen. do you think that newest baby will turn out with more color as an adult than the previous generations?

thanks

Thanks everyone for the compliments! It's definitely been a lot of fun working with this project. I enjoy working with long term projects like the orange albino fattails!

It's a real joy to see progress each generation and to selectively breed a smaller quantity of animals, but produce higher quality ones! Honestly, I keep most of the best ones for myself and a few each year I just give away or trade to friends.

From my experience, the really orange babies I've produced from my orange adults- after the 2nd hatchling shed, their bands are orange and remain so into adulthood. The difference between the "peach" or light phase albinos and the "orange" ones are clearly evident at an early age (Although some lines, the orange coloration develops with age). The hatchling orange albino pictured is less than 3 weeks old! Some develop almost red body coloration as juveniles, but those colors can vary depending on temperature, mood and stress/hormonal levels.
