what did you do with those bricks to make such a nice substrate? is that just bricks and sand in between?

The flooring is actually bathroom tile/slate that I got at home depot. Its the one where the little pieces are stuck together to make a 12x12. I covered the bottom of the viv with sand to protect from too much heat coming through. Then I put the tile on top...I used about 2 1/2 of those 12x12 tiles to cover the whole bottom of the viv and then put play sand in between. It stays clean and doesn't absorb any smell. Just have to vacuum and clean up an debris from Teak running around and trying to catch his dinner :)

Yeah I read on here that the play sand helps with blocking too much heat coming up through the slate, so thats why I put a thin layer on the bottom. Works well and I don't have to worry about him ingesting any when chasing down his dinner.

Here are some more pics of his home so you can see the whole picture. The coconut shell is his warm hide, green hide is the moist, hide in right back corner is another warm hide with repti carpet and the hide on the left back corner is his cool hide with repti carpet.

I also think the tiles are a wonderful idea. It looks really cool. :)

What cage model is he in? I'm looking into getting my little guy a nicer cage next year, so I'd like to hear your thoughts about yours, if you don't mind.

Thank you! Its actually a hard plastic type cage. I rescued him from someone who couldn't take care of him and thats the cage he came with. I have no clue where the previous owner got it but I like it. I can take different pics of the cage to show you if you would like? You can't really see the whole thing in these pics.

Of course, no problem. I added the light attached to the back b/c the previous owner had a super bright white light and I noticed Teak looked stressed. I also added a UTH b/c again, the previous owner had no other heat source besides the light which wasn't even heating up the floor of the viv. I was a little worried at first putting the UTH on the plastic but have had no issues what so ever with it possibly melting or letting off a weird chemically smell.

I love that floor too. Your cage looks great! My leo has newspaper substrate, a Ziploc container humid hide, one half log on the cool side and a hot cocoa box on the warm side with a peanut butter jar lid as a water dish...lol. Very basic and homemade. I really should look into a nicer setup!

Thank you! Its still a work in progress...but I'm happy with how it looks and Teak seems to like climbing the rocks that are in there!
