So I see people on you tube feeding their leopard geckos pinky mice and was wondering if this is even healthy for the gecko. I would imagine it wouldn't be due to the fact they are insectivores . It's their any nutritional value?

from what ive read its only helpful to the leo after laying eggs to gain weight. not sure how accurate that is but its what ive read online.

it seems that feeding pinkies is mainly for the enjoyment of the owner. if you enjoy that type of stuff.

No I don't, it disgusted me to watch, but if it offered more nutrition than what I have been feeding then I would give her 1 every once in a while, now I know and won't feed her pinkies.

I feed f/t pinks to my breeders if my snakes refuse. Occasionally I'll feed them other times too. I heard they are a good source of protein and "healthy" fat for breeding. Mine go crazy over them

I'd stick with insects to be honest. At least your geckos will be able to digest insects well. I've seen many geckos pass undigested or half digested pinkies from those that feed them. If they were fed to fatten up the geckos, that sort of defeats the purpose if they don't digest them fully.

If you need a protein shot, dubia roaches contain up to 36% protein, more than enough for leopard geckos. If you need to fatten up the geckos due to a breeding season, superworms have always done plenty well for me. If you have a gecko that needs extra calcium, phoenix worms will do the trick.

jxl22 above is correct in that a lot of people feed pinkies to leopard geckos for their own enjoyment.
