So in the future I hope to build a stand for my current Leo and either future Leos or possibly a Beardie.

I absolutely love Google SketchUp because of the ability to be creative and plan things out.

I made this stand to hold two 50 gallon front slider tanks. Does anyone see any issues with the way I designed it? Or maybe any constructive criticism? all together the whole unit is around 4' tall.

I was thinking standard 2x4. I had begun to wonder that although they wouldn't be full of water or stones how much the tanks would weigh and if it would support them.

Oh yeah, That stand design would be very strong. You may actually be overdoing it a little. (Not a bad thing) If you want to dress it up you can get veneer plywood to go over the 2x4 frame. Some nice trim would cover up your edges. Some heavy duty(locking) casters would be nice if you had to move it for any reason.

I used 2x3 for my own stand, oak veneer 1/4"plywood and slabs of oak that I ripped cut and routed for, I built my own tank 4'x2'x1' high tank to fit ontop and a standard 10 gallon on the bottom them used the room on the sides for doors (again made myself) for storage, feeders, extra bulbs, power bars etcetera. Be back in 5 minutes with pictures
