I guess it's not great to use soil as a substrate for tokay's but I want to put plants in. If I put soil down for plants and then a bark mixture over it, would the plants live ok? If I just put soil down, would I have to replant the plants in new soil in order to clean (since you have to change the substrate)?
Also, does hydroton help humidity? I saw someone had that under their soil for plants. I know very little about plants lol.

potted plants are always a good idea becuase you can just take them out to clean the cage. super handy.

if you wanted to put soil in the cage, i assume your worried about the tokay injesting perlite? i would just put a layer of peat moss over the top and that should work just fine.

i had some type of moss but it was getting in her mouth a lot so i took most of it out. idk if that would happen as much with peat moss though.
