My leopard gecko eggs have dented badly withen the past two hours. They have been incubating for about 6 1/2 weeks a 85 degrees. Does anyone know why the are denting? They are clutch mates but there are also other eggs in the container. Please help

They could be too dry, they could be getting ready to hatch, or the babies might have died. They are pretty bad, but hopefully they'll be ok for you.

Its only been about 4 hours since they both started to dent. I put a little bit of sphagnum moss on top of it. I really hope they start to get better. The thing is i just don't understand what can cause a dramatic change in both of the clutch mates at the same time.

No, the thermometer still reads 85 degrees. I have been using hatch-rite and none of the other eggs in the in the container are denting.

The eggs may not have been fertile. They look pretty dented, but they might still be salvagable. I usually take a small cut square of paper towel and mist it, then lay it gently over the eggs. If they are fertile, they will plump back up within 48 hours.

Good Luck!

STOP! For some reason this happen to a clutch of mine too. As they were getting ready to hatch they became dented like that. A few days passed and they hatched. it was sudden like yours. I think it depends on the position of the baby inside cuss sometimes it was puffed up a few minuets later.

Well, the eggs puffed just a little bit more over night. Not much though. So should i switch the sphagnum moss to a piece of paper towel? I checked if the were fertile. The glow red with some places being a dark color. The babies should be albino. Would you see them in the egg?:main_huh:

Are they very soft when you touch them? If that is the case they are soon ready to hatch! You don't havo to mist at all if the other eggs are fine!
If the are hard, you should try to give them more humidity - but very carefully! They won't die right away only because the eggs are dented! So take enough time to ''rehydrate''!
Don't mist near the eggs!!! That can cause them to die! Mist only very little, give some water to the bottom of the box - far away from the eggs so that the humidity rises slowly! That is very important!

Good luck!
