I think my gecko, Sailor, is having some sort of relapse, but i'm not sure. I've had her for almost two years and she's always been rather healthy until I noticed she was a lot smaller than my other gecko who is about the same age. So I put her in her own tank for awhile so she could have her own food and fresh water. I picked her up today and noticed that something was wrong around her stomach like you can see in the pictures. I'm hopefully getting her to the vet tomorrow, but can anyone tell me what seems to be wrong? I want to make sure she gets the right care as soon as possible.

Well, first thing is that Sailor is a male. You can tell by the little V-shape of dots between his back legs. The swelling near his vent appears to be plugged and infected hemipenes. This can happen with geckos kept on substrate such as sand and no humid hide provided to give them a moist refuge to help with shedding.

Sailor is probably going to need the vet to help unblock his hemipenes, as there are likely sperm plugs built up inside. He may also require antibiotics to help with the infection. Please do see the vet, as those appear bad enough to need a medical opinion.

Here's a bit of info on this sort of problem. Soaks in a small amount of warm water (gecko knees only, not covering back) and providing a humid hide in the future could help. Also, if you are currently keeping on sand or a loose substrate, you may consider changing to something like paper towel or tile, especially while Sailor is recovering.
