My gecko jumped out of my hands while I was holding her and she fell straight on her tail onto carpet. She immediately started violently wiggling her tail and she wouldn't move her back legs. About a minute later it stopped wiggling and started moving around again, but her tail is bent upwards a little bit. She's moving it around a little like normal, but it's still slightly bent upwards. The tail didn't break off and no skin is broken, what do I do? Do I need to do anything? Should I take her to the vet? Please help!

I would watch it for a bit first, geckos should be able to fall from human height and be fine, mine have done it before(though on carpet). If it was on a hard surface I would be more concerned. Look for signs of trauma and or signs that the gecko is harmed. It is entirely possible that she may have broken a bone on the lower area of her body. Definitely take her to a vet if her tail doesn't return to normal within a few days.

And like Cesar posted, pictures would be helpful.

I always error on the side of caution - take her to the vet

She could have a fracture within that is VERY painful - on top of that small shards from a fracture could very well slice internally and cause a plethora of more issues

Take her to the vet - not going to lie - more than likely wont be cheap - but if you want to give her the best care possible - that is the way to go
