So i got the hydrofarm digital thermostat that a few people told me to buy. Does any one know how to install? Do i really put the probe in his tank?

Yes the probe is placed in the tank and usually taped down over the uth. What kind of substrate are you using? Also, to set the temp, just hold the set button until the display blinks. Then use the up button to get to your desired temp and hit the set button again. I have 2 of them for each of my setups and them set to 95°F.

Thank you for fast reply and i had carpet but i switched to this tile stuff its more like a think bendable plastic from home depot. So i dont see how that would work because the slate will b all uneven ?

The probe will have to be on top of your substrate and in a position that the gecko can not move it.

Wait, what exactly are you using for substrate? Plastic doesn't sound like something you want to put over a UTH.

No it is not bad. It is just fine to use as a substrate.

Tape the probe down IN the tank, on top of the substrate inside your leo's dry warm hide. This is what the probe should look like. You see my gecko, the thermostat probe is right there. The silver thing.

Just tape it down with scotch tape. It won't bother the leo at all. If your leo is anything like mine, they will lay on it...

That probe is where Ozy's dry warm hide is. I just picked the hide up to take a pic. And mine is just taped down with regular scotch tape, no it doesn't bother her at all. She likes to use it as a "pillow" when she's in her hide. lol

My only prob with that is hy boys warm hide is a 3 in 1 repti shelter that opens from the top so it wont be able to close with the wire in it. Also the prob temp reading is different then my infared temp gun what should i do?

The probe measures air temps, while the temp gun measures surface temps. Your temp gun reading should be higher than the digital thermometer reading.
