Hello everyone.
Every year I support the Salvation Army and this year I've signed-up to host an online "virtual red kettle".
Prior to September 11th the Salvation Army had never touched my life. I was like many folks who knew they did something good and would throw my spare change to the kettle.
Many of you know that I spent some time at Ground Zero on 9-12-01. What you may not know is that on 9-11 myself, and many other New Jersey EMS providers responded to assist in treating the injured. While positioned at Liberty State park to accept injured arriving by boat Salvation Army volunteers brought us food and tried their best to make us feel comfortable.
The night before we left for Ground Zero the folks at The Salvation Army housed us in a shleter they set up at the Gymnasium of Rutgers Newark. They fed us and provided us with toiletries. But more than that they gave us their kindness and support. They even staffed the shelter with grief counselors.
I will never forget what the Salvation Army did for us that day.
Please join me in supporting this worthwhile cause. Any amount is greatly appreciated.

Thank you and have a Happy Ramahannakwanzmus.
