My camera was done charging so I went to go take pictures of my babies because they were all out and I noticed my male (zeus) licking at the base of his tail....then i noticed that something looked VERY wrong!

He is housed with three females and they all get along, i never see them fight or act agressive towards each other. There are three hides in the tank and he pretty much owns one of them...I dont know what happened and im soooo scared!

Here are a couple pictures...

He had just gotten done breeding with one of the females.....his hemipenis was still out. That is normal. When they don't go back in, it's called a prolapse, which does sometimes happen. If it went right back in, you don't need to worry. Usually they stay out for a few minutes after breeding and the male licks and cleans himself and it retracts.

Yes, this site is absolutely WONDERFUL! I've learned so much from the awesome people on here! I'm just so glad I could return the favor and help someone else out! I know it's reallly freaky when something like that happens and you don't know what's going on. The first time I put a breeding pair together, one of my males got a prolapsed hemipenis.....I was really freaked out. Everyone on here was great and helped me through it. :D
