What do the point do when I get a "trophy" I have 8 points at moment - but slightly confused x

As far as I can tell they determine what "rank" you are, like gecko egg, hatchling, adult. It's just for fun.

They are just for fun - kind of like participation points... They encourage people to acknowledge others for good posts and also can be looked at like a post count...
