My newest addition Jake is pooing in his moist hide and I can't figure out why.He has plenty of room as he is in a 20 gal tank. He is a adult pretty much full grown about 2 yrs old.The person I got him from didn't have this problem and he was in a smaller tub then. I have only had him about 3 weeks so I take the top off of his hide to get him to stay out at night and get used to sounds and things but he still poos in it. Any suggestions as to how to get him to stop this I'm pretty sure it isn't healthy. Am I going to have to put in another wet hide for him to sleep in because he wants privacy to use the pot?:)

I use to have a 1.2 geckos that did. They used their moist hide box as their litter box. I had to take it out, clean it out, and leave it for few days till they found another spot to poop. They don't poop in it at all now.

Maybe leave the humid hide in there, but block off the entrance for a few days, so he can't get in and will need to find another place to poop in. I guess a few days without a humid hide won't hurt him?

When I had a gecko that decided to poop on his wood, I put fake plants all over it, so he can't climb on the wood; and successfully made him choose another spot to poop on. ;)

My leo poops on one corner of tank, sometimes other coner of tank, but all far far away from his hide

You can move his hide to other place in the tank, and make sure proper temperature, hopefully he will learn where to poop.
