Pooping in humid hide?

Hi all! I have a male jungle, big eater and nice size for a young adult. I got this guy about 6 months back and for the first 5 months I never actually saw him in his humid hide, ever. I saw him shed multiple times, he is an amazingly fast shedder. Just never used his humid hide.

Well just about a month ago I went into my reptile room to feed and there he was in the humid hide, head poked out. A moment later he came walking out with that big 'ol I just pooped grin. And for the last four weeks he has decided to use his humid hide as his personal toilet. He just stopped using his usual corner altogether, which had been his spot for 5 months. Any ideas as to why the sudden change? Did he just want more privacy?

Possibly, from what I've experienced, is the Leos are notoriously unpredictable.

Don't worry, my friend. Let your pet be what it is: a reptile. Reptiles can do things that the average human either won't believe or fathom.

Good luck and take care.

Have you rearrange his furniture lately?

My female does the same thing

Those little piglets:main_laugh: My leo always poops in the same corner, but I noticed that the 2 times I have rearranged furniture in his house is when he poops somewhere else but then goes back to his main spot. Never in his moist hide tho.
