Poor Lana wants to Climb...

When I decorated Lana's Tiny 10gallon I made sure to have a nice little background so she could have something to look at. On that background there's something that appears to be a tree stump for the past 2days Lana has tried her very best to try and CLIMB the stump without any luck, lol. I feel bad looking at her kick her hind legs and fanning her front legs like a maniac clawing at the background.

She's not one to climb the sides of the tank or anything but when she sees that stump she tries and tries and tries.

As this happened to anyone else?

I don't have this problem but i do have an issue with a group becoming shy when it comes to feeding time. I normally take everything out of their tanks and keep 2 geckos in there and put in more then the 2 could eat just to know they get their fill. Recently i have had 2 geckos that refuse to eat when left in the tank w/o their hides and such. As soon as i put the hides back in the geckos are all about eating. It's funny and frustrating all the in the same sense.

The 2 girls are getting about the 50g mark so i guess it may be due to they are reaching sexual maturity or something of that nature. I dunno. Maybe they are just shy and want to aggrevate me.

my friend's iguana used to do that. he would try for hours to get at the log in the picture even though he had a perfectly good one in his tank.

Our big boy Eben still does this after a year in his tank with the same background. He has rocks and ledges to climb on but he still tries to climb up the "big rock" that is on his background, LOL.

Yeah one of my more adventurous geckos used to do that. I solved the problem by putting in a hammock. The reptile hammocks are a good way to add a climbing feature to your tank without taking up alot of space. The small size hammocks are perfect for 10 gallons. I think they are made by zoo med.

Then why post?

Now Now, lets be nice on the Holiday! :main_laugh: :main_rolleyes:

My female does something like that, and it took me a while to figure
out what the heck she was trying to do.
She goes off into the back right corner, stands there looking up for
a few minutes, than proceeds to climb the glass. She only picks this
one spot, and all the while she is "climbing", she is starring intently
through the glass at one spot.
I finally figured out it was the curtain directly behind, and touching
the back of the terrarium. :p
