Possible burns on males?

I'm about to head out somewhere so I can't post any details but I'll do so when I return. In the mean time here's some images of my three boys and their varying degrees of what seems to be a possible burn. Hopefully these will be enough to tell for the time being.

Mack snow albino male whom seems to have it the worst. [also my first ever gecko]

Now I'm not entirely sure what could have caused this but I'd have to assume it's possibly from when the stupid theomometer would slide out from the rack and rest on the floor which would leave me to assume that the thermostat would put out more heat to try and warm up the rack since whenever I check now, it's usually around 80-86 at the warmer end of the tub. As for the eclipse male, it's likely from when I switched out my reptile carpet for paper towel in his tank.. Mistake I guess since his UTH isn't connected to the thermostat so I guess that was more direct contact when he was out of his humid hide. Also none of the females seem to have such abrasions on their bodies oddly enough from what I could tell..

You mean that V between their thighs? You can sleep well tonight, those are just their pores ;) It's a male thing and all of them have it. Some have darker or more pronounced pores than others but they all have them.

What exactly are you looking at that you think is a burn? I just see a bit of dirt and the normal V of pores for a male. The last picture looks like something funky might be going on with the belly skin but I bet it's just the position of the gecko - especially if you took the picture under a piece of glass or something.

lol...I looked at the pics and didn't see anything but the dark pores, some substrate, and the belly skin in the 3rd pic. I'm an amateur so i was waiting on some replies from experienced people so I would learn what to look for. Glad I wasn't overlooking anything.

In my amateur opinion, the pores on your boys appear darker than they do on my <9month boys. I am wondering if the increased heat (from the rack issue and the thinner papertowel substrate) caused the wax to darken/harden? If so, or harmless to do anyway, I would give a couple of warm baths to soften/loosen the possibly-hardened wax..??

Here I've circled the areas of concern and modified the pictures to be a bit sharper[hopefully it helps]. If need be I can attempt at taking some better photos as these were taken quite quickly since I was in a bit of a hurry.

It's mostly the undersides of the tail which seem to have some somewhat glossy looking areas that are a bit of a beige color, as if slightly burnt. There also seems to be some tears perhaps on the vent areas and as for the stomache, I can assure you that he wasn't against glass when this was taken. To top it off his feet look as though they may be burned as well? I simply held them by their tails up slightly for a moment to get a picture, leaving their upper bodies on a solid surface.

If the males are producing their "waxy substance" from their pores, it will often smear onto the surface and then get smeared back onto their tails. I will let others with more experience analyze the feet and possibly confirm if it is wax-smear on the tails. :)

it looks like you're lifting the gecko completely off the ground by its tail.

@TB - I hope that's the case and it's nothing to worry about. After all, that would explain why it's only the males that show this and not the females.

@ebuch - It may look that way but I'm not. It was only a quick rear end lift to get a shot of the belly and tail. Most of my geckos are not bothered by this and if anything they seem to find this less stressful than my trying to turn them over when checking for eggs or whatever else. Either way I likely won't be doing this way again anyways since it's a bit hard using only one small hand on a large DSLR camera. :c
Taking photos through a plastic container just doesn't always do justice for what you're trying to photograph.

hoinestly, when i saw the pics before i read the problem, i thought the belly was just loose skin from him about to shed. my girls bellys look like that when they start dragging their bellies around right before they shed.... maybe they are about to shed?

I would make sure they have adequate water and a moist hide. It could be dehydration as well but it looks relatively normal to me. I wouldn't panic over it unless it gets worse or changes in some way.

Well I just found out that Nibblesnarf [the with the strange belly], he was indeed about to shed. Now he looks a great deal better though a bit angry after needing assistance with the toes despite seeming to appreciate the help while I was getting it off. As for the water and moist hide, they all have a good sized water dish available at all times and a moist hide that gets sprayed out every other day or so depending on the size since the smaller tubs seem to dry out faster.

Guess I'll keep an eye on the others. Sorry for buggin about what's possibly/most likely nothing. ^^;

I didn't see anything out of the ordinary either, that's why I thought maybe you were alarmed by the pores! Especially since you mentioned only the males had this "problem." I've seen more basic questions ("my reptile's skin is sloughing off! What is happening??!?!") so please don't take what I said as an attack on your intelligence!

I thought as much about the last one's stomach, it looked like loose shed skin about to start breaking off.
