I was wondering how long some people have noticed some of their geckos have gone between laying clutches. This is only my second year breeding and last year I only bred one proven female who laid her eggs like clock work every 2 weeks between clutches. This year I've bred a couple more females but 2 of them are first time breeders. Both of the first time females laid one clutch each that all turned out to be infertile, not surprising, but now it's been at least 4 weeks since they've laid eggs. Is this normal?
The one female I can see what look like fully developed eggs inside her and she's starting to eat less. Probably hasn't eaten in a week and is starting to really slow down but seems normal otherwise.
The other female doesn't really look like she's developing any more eggs but is still very active and eating.
How long in other people's experience/opinion is too long for a female to be holding on to full term eggs?
