Hi, I've been gone on vacation for a month and recently got back a few days ago, and had someone taking care of the reptiles for me. All my reptiles are doing perfect except for my brothers leopard gecko. She was shedding with shed stuck on her toes and all, and had calcium dust all over her, was acting kind of slow, I also noticed that both of her eyes were squinted (the left being the worst) and her tail was a little red and hard towards the end. now we have been using topical mist spray and shed ease in her baths (she has had a bath every night since being back) and almost all of the shed is gone except for a little on her head, back and toes. Her tail is not red any more and some of the hardness on tail has gone away except for the tip (i think she will lose the tip). The only thing that hasn't changed are her eyes. the only thing I've been told was to wait a few days and take her to the vet, but im trying to only do so as a last resort.

Sterile saline solution can be use safely in the eyes. It's easy right after the warm soak, they are a bit more relaxed. Available at the pharmacy in a big bottle.

There are other recent threads in this section on eye issues that might help you.
